Author Brad Moschetti
Brad moschetti was sentenced to twelve years federal prison on January 2002. These poems were written while doing those years behind bars. Prison changes a man—your heart hardens, your spirit crushed. I hope you can understand the devastation prison inflicts upon a person and the seriousness of the consequences for our actions. I learned the hard way that we often fail to appreciate what we have in life until it’s taken from us. Prison takes you away from those you love, you lose your independence and freedom of choice. But knowing you hurt your loved ones and knowing there’s only yourself to blame rips at your heart and soul. So I dug deep, found the inspiration I needed, and wrote these poems from the heart of the prisoner. Never lose sight of your loved ones. Never lose sight of yourself. I hope you find some inspiration and joy out of reading these poems.

Author James Robinson
I appreciate all the cowboys and ranchers I worked with over these many years. It has been a pleasant ride and a lot of fun most of the time.

Also, thanks to the wives and girlfriends of the cowboys for the early morning breakfasts and for bringing dinner to us where we were working—usually served from the back of a pickup to a bunch of hungry cowboys. It was so nice to know that your stomach wasn’t going to eat your backbone!

I graduated from Texas A&M in animal science. I learned a lot, but they didn’t teach me anything about working cattle, dragging calves, or how to get on a young horse. I learned all that at the university of hard knocks. It had been entertaining!

I figure we worked about three thousand plus during the spring and fall and thousands of cattle branding and shipping. Made lots of short nights, long days, and tired cowboys. In the fall, we worked every day for about two-and-a-half months. I have good memories of those times.

I’m so glad I was there because I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2003, and later, I could not lift my leg high enough to put my foot in the stirrup. I am so thankful for the memories that I took with me.
I would also like to thank my dad for giving me the chance to follow my dreams . . .

Fate would have it though, that her uncle and aunt are called away to Europe, and it is then that Emerald begins the germination of an idea that would take her far away. With the help of her cousins, arrangements are made for her to “escape the stranger” and sail with Captain Barrymoore to California and to stay at his home in LaCara. Unbeknownst to Emerald, the stranger and Captain Barrymoore are one in the same. Upon arriving in Colombia, he is informed that his father is deathly ill and not expected to live. Readers will travel with Emerald and Logan to Galveston, Havana, Colombia, and California, where a mansion full of splendor and charm becomes the backdrop of their adventure. “Man meets woman” is not new, neither is true love, but the muchloved characters of Logan’s Gem mature and develop more deeply with every page. Author Angela Kiel Willoughby
With her years of wisdom, experience, and musing, poet-author Angela Kiel Willoughby shares a poem collection that speaks of more than what people plainly see and observe. She wants to impart a part of her – her life, thoughts, and experiences – to everyone, especially to future generations. That’s why she leaves this Legacy of Poems behind.

Much of her work is experiential, which makes it even more engaging and compelling. Through her poetry, she expresses her feelings of empathy towards people’s grief and pain. It also conveys the cruel treatment of animals being done these days. It reflects nature, love, friendships, retirement, African-American men, birth, and death. She also includes a stinging rebuke on “downsizing,” with some subtle advice. All these and more are penned down in this Legacy of Poems.

Author Deborah Donathan
Deborah was born and raised in Moab Utah. She now resides in Colorado with her husband of twenty-five years and youngest son. She is the mother of four; three children and a daughter-in-law. She is also the grandmother of a beautiful two year old little girl. Deborah’s passion for the unborn and the women that carry these babies began when she was eleven years old and saw something about abortion on television. The show had abortion portrayed as no big deal. Even at eleven years old she knew that this was a living being that would be killed if the pregnancy were terminated. At age twenty-two she started and ran a crisis pregnancy service for women that would find themselves in the same position she had found herself in at one time. At age nineteen she was unmarried and pregnant. The thought of abortion never crossed her mind even when she didn’t know what she was going to do. Determining that she had a heart for the unborn and wanting to educate women and men on all the options of abortion versus giving birth to a living breathing baby she began to do speaking engagements at churches and yes, even a local high school. Deborah believes that knowledge is the key to women being able to make the best decision for themselves and their baby. So, she started the book Candy Apple Love in 2001 and wrote fifteen pages and then put it away for seven years. She got the book out in September of 2008 and began writing it again. She finished it October 11, 2008. Deborah has written several poems and two songs that go along with her book Candy Apple Love. The songs will be recorded in November, 2008.

Author Marissa Marshland
Over the years, I began to realize that I had the ability to write a one page short story using one or two true life facts. I would later use the short story to build a longer fictional story.

My book We Are Cat People started out as a one page story that sat in my office for quite a while before I began doing anything with it. Presently, I have two other literary projects in the works.

I realize that words cannot describe fully how owning a pet can make you a better person. I know that a cat can bring joy, laughter, and love. That is what my cats give freely to me. I love cats!
